Lead Editor, Sense ’N’ Science
July 2026 · Volume 16“The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible.”
The reason Albert Einstein was so intelligent is because he was curious. It is this curiosity that led him to become one of the most famous and celebrated scientists of all time (that, and his signature hairstyle!)
Physics is not a facet of science, but science in its entirety, and it is physics we must understand if we are to understand absolutely anything else. As Einstein said, this task is not as hard as it seems, so let’s all take a page out of his book and start seeking the answers to all our questions about the universe, from the tiniest blades of grass, to the biggest, scariest rollercoasters.
Sense ’N’ Science is my school’s student-led science magazine, published under faculty mentorship. In July 2026, I served as lead editor for its 16th volume. Alongside a team of six student writers, I proposed the central theme, “Physical Phenomena.” Together with contributing student writers, we published an issue that was widely praised by both teachers and peers across our STEM community.

The Gig Economy — A Winning Proposition for All Stakeholders
2026 · Meridian Economics Essay CompetitionWritten for the Meridian Economics Essay Competition in response to the prompt: “The gig economy — Uber, Swiggy, Deliveroo, Fiverr — has created millions of jobs globally. But is flexible work actually good for workers, or has it simply transferred risk from firms to individuals?”
I argue that the gig and freelance economy offers substantial benefits to all major stakeholders: workers, businesses, platforms, and the broader economy. As younger generations enter the workforce, this sector will only continue to expand, with its long-term advantages outweighing its structural challenges.
In India, the Code on Social Security (2020) provides legal recognition for gig and platform workers while establishing crucial safety nets, including life and disability cover, health and maternity benefits, accident insurance, and old-age protection. Under this framework, aggregator platforms across ride-hailing, food delivery, and e-commerce contribute 1–2% of their annual turnover to a dedicated welfare fund. By framing the gig economy as a growth engine rather than a vulnerability, policy safeguards can preserve flexibility while protecting worker welfare.
